On 12 December 2018, the Commission issued an electricity generation licence to Sustainable Energy Infrastructure Pty Ltd for the operation of a 4.4 megawatt (MW) gas fired co-generation facility located at the Coopers Brewery, Regency Park.

On 29 September 2022, the Commission approved the transfer of Sustainable Energy Infrastructure Pty Ltd’s electricity generation licence to Coopers Brewery Ltd.

The Commission undertook a round of public consultation in relation to the transfer and received no submissions from stakeholders.

The Commission assessed the transfer application from Sustainable Energy Infrastructure Pty Ltd to Coopers Brewery Ltd against the relevant provisions of the Electricity Act 1996 and the Essential Services Commission Act 2002 and determined that all relevant criteria under those Acts have been satisfied. It has therefore approved the transfer application.
