Extension of temporary class exemptions

The Commission has extended the current temporary class exemptions applicable to electricity industry operators, as follows:

• Virtual Power Plants – extended two years until 30 November 2025
• Electric Vehicle charging stations – extended one year until 30 November 2024, and 
• Sub-5MW generators – extended one year until 30 November 2024. 

The extension allows the Department for Energy and Mining to continue its review of the SA licensing framework as set out in the Electricity Act 1996. For further information on the review and to get involved, refer to the link below:
