Inquiry News Inquiry into the South Australian bulk grain export supply chain costs - On 16 March 2017 the Treasurer provided the Commission with Terms of Reference for an inquiry into the reasonableness of the costs underpinning the South Australian bulk grain supply chain. Interested stakeholders are invited to make a submission to this Inquiry. Inquiry into reliability and quality of electricity supply on the Eyre Peninsula - The Treasurer has referred to the Commission an Inquiry into the reliability and quality of electricity supply on the Eyre Peninsula. The Commission will examine prudent and efficient options for improving the reliability and quality of electricity supply on the Eye Peninsula. It will submit an inquiry draft report to the Treasurer by 31 May 2017, with a final report to be submitted by 6 October 2017. The Commission will conduct public consultation on its draft report during June/July 2017 and will be consulting directly with key stakeholders throughout the inquiry. Inquiry into the South Australian bulk grain export supply chain costs - variation to Terms of Reference - The Treasurer has advised the Commission of a variation to the Terms of Reference for the inquiry. The dates for both the draft and final reports have been revised. Inquiry into reliability and quality of electricity supply on the Eyre Peninsula - submissions received - The Commission has received eight submissions on the Draft Report into the Inquiry into reliability and quality of electricity supply on the Eyre Peninsula. Final report released on the Inquiry into the licensing arrangements for generators - The Commission has released the Final Report on the Inquiry into the licensing arrangements for generators in South Australia. The Commission has found that there is a need for it to continue to impose transitional technical conditions within licences for new electricity generators which are to be connected to the National Electricity Market (regardless of generation type) – on the basis that this will protect South Australian consumers’ long-term interests with respect to the price, quality and reliability of essential services. Local Government rate oversight system – Consultation Paper - The Treasurer has sought the Commission’s advice on the administrative and regulatory arrangements required to support a local government rate oversight system.
