Overview
The Commission has received an application from the South Australian Water Corporation (SA Water) to vary its electricity generation licence to authorise the operation of a ground mounted solar generating plant and battery with a total generating capacity of 16.518 megavolt ampere (MVA) with 8.37 megawatt (MW) maximum export level, located at the Happy Valley Water Treatment Plant.

Final
On 24 March 2022, the Commission varied SA Water’s electricity generation licence, authorising the operation of a solar photovoltaic and battery energy storage system generating plant at the Happy Valley Water Treatment Plant located at Chandlers Hill Road, Happy Valley, with a generating capacity of 16.52 megavolt amperes and maximum export level of 8.37 megawatts.
The Commission undertook a round of public consultation in relation to the application and received no submissions from stakeholders.
The Commission assessed SA Water’s application for an electricity generation licence against the relevant provisions of the Electricity Act 1996 and the Essential Services Commission Act 2002 and determined that all relevant criteria under those Acts have been satisfied. It has therefore approved the application.
