Overview

The Commission has received an application from HWF Pty Ltd for an electricity generation licence in accordance with the Electricity Act 1996 (Electricity Act). The applicant is seeking to operate 32 Siemens 3.2MW (SWT-3.2-113) wind turbine electricity generators with a total combined maximum output capacity capped at 100 MW.

On 27 January 2016, HWF 1 Pty Ltd applied to the Commission for an electricity generation licence, seeking to a operate 32 wind turbines at a capped capacity of 100MW.

The Commission undertook a round of public consultation in relation to the application and received no submissions from stakeholders.

The Commission has assessed the application against the relevant provisions of the Electricity Act 1996 and the Essential Services Commission Act 2002 (as they apply to the Commission's role as an economic regulator of the South Australian electricity industry) and determined that all relevant criteria have been satisfied.

The electricity generation licence was issued to HWF 1 Pty Ltd on 12 May 2016.
