The Commission has received an application from AGL Barker Inlet Pty Limited for an electricity generation licence for the operation of a generating plant with the maximum output capacity of 216 megawatt (MW). The generating plant will be located on Torrens Island.

Final
On 17 July 2019, the Commission issued an electricity generation licence to AGL Barker Inlet Pty Limited for the operation of a generating plant with the maximum output capacity of 211 megawatts (MW), located at Torrens Island.
The Commission undertook a round of public consultation in relation to the application and received no submissions from stakeholders.
The Commission assessed AGL Barker Inlet Pty Limited’s application for an electricity generation licence against the relevant provisions of the Electricity Act 1996 and the Essential Services Commission Act 2002 and determined that all relevant criteria under those Acts have been satisfied. It has therefore approved the application.
