On 26 September, A.C.N. 626 950 829 Pty Ltd applied to the Commission for the transfer of an electricity generation, distribution and retail licence currently held by Cowell Electric Supply Pty Ltd. 

The Commission undertook a round of public consultation in relation to the application and did not receive any submissions.

The Commission assessed the application against the relevant provisions of the Electricity Act 1996 and the Essential Services Commission Act 2002 (as they apply to the Commission’s role as an economic regulator of the South Australian electricity industry) and determined that all relevant criteria had been satisfied. It has therefore approved the application. 

The electricity generation, distribution and retail licence was transferred to A.C.N. 626 950 829 Pty Ltd on 26 September 2018. During the assessment process, A.C.N. 626 950 829 Pty Ltd changed its name to Cowell Electric Supply Pty Ltd. Accordingly, the licence has been issued in the name of Cowell Electric Supply Pty Ltd.
