On 28 May 2020, the South Australian Government issued a direction under section 6 of the Public Corporations Act 1993, requiring the South Australian Water Corporation (SA Water) to take over the City of Tea Tree Gully’s sewerage operations. As of 1 July 2022, the transition of operations to SA Water was complete.
Accordingly, the Commission has varied the City of Tea Tree Gully’s water retail licence. The variation removes authorisation to provide sewerage services, within the City of Tea Tree Gully’s boundary. The licence continues to authorise the provision of non-drinking water services.
