The Commission has received an application from the District Council of Yankalilla’s for a variation to its water industry retail licence in accordance with the Water Industry Act 2012.

Variation – Water and sewerage retail services at Wirinna Cove
The District Council of Yankalilla applied for a variation to its water licence to incorporate ownership and management of water services at Wirrina Cove. Wirrina Corporation Pty Ltd had been issued with a temporary exemption from having to hold a water licence due to expire on 30 June 2013.
District Council of Yankalilla and Wirrina Corporation Pty Ltd have negotiated an agreement for District Council of Yankalilla to own the pipelines, pump stations and treatment plans that make up the system at Wirrina Cove effective from 31 May 2013 and take over the water supply and sewerage services.
The application was assessed against relevant criteria specified in the Water Industry Act and the Essential Services Commission Act 2002. The licence variation was issued to the District Council of Yankalilla on 17 June 2013.
