Overview
Our Charter of Consultation and Regulatory Practice (Charter) provides
guidance on our consultation and engagement processes. We consider it good
practice to regularly review our processes and seek feedback on the
effectiveness of our consultation methods.

The Commission has now completed its review of our Charter of Consultation
and Regulatory Practice. The updated charter incorporates suggestions make by
stakeholders though an eight week public consultation process and feedback
received though engaging with the Consumer Advisory Committee.
The Charter has been updated to:
- include the revised Commission Values;
- provide additional guidance on the methods of engagement used; and
- reflect changes in the Commission's functions in the electricity and gas
industries, following the introduction of the National Energy Customer Framework
and deregulation of energy retail prices in February 2013.
The Commission is committed to ensuring that its Charter and the processes
outlined in it remain effective and that the consultation methods used are those
best suited to the work undertaken. While the Commission will formally review
its Charter at least every three years, comments and suggestions on new and
innovative ways to involve the South Australian community in its work are always
welcome.
