REES code review 2017 – further information - Archived

The Commission has extended the review of the REES Code. Following the release of a Draft Decision and Final Decision in 2018, the amended Code will apply from 1 January 2019.

The Commission received ten public submissions to the Issues Paper on the review of the REES Code. Those submissions raised key matters for considerations and in response, the Commission has initiated an in-depth evaluation of the REES Compliance Framework. The evaluation seeks opportunities to reduce regulatory burden while ensuring a proportionate and risk-based approach to REES compliance.

A Draft Decision will be released in June 2018, which will take into account matters raised by stakeholders and the findings from the Commission’s evaluation. The Commission thanks those who provided submissions to the Issues Paper and welcomes further feedback following the release of the Draft Decision.
