On 26 September 2018, the Commission approved the transfer of an electricity generation, distribution and retail licence from Cowell Electric Supply Pty Ltd to A.C.N. 626 950 829 Pty Ltd. This licence authorises the operation of generation plants and distribution networks, as well as retails electricity, in various locations in regional and remote areas of South Australia.
The Commission assessed the application against the relevant provisions of the Electricity Act 1996 and the Essential Services Commission Act 2002 (as they apply to the Commission’s role as an economic regulator of the South Australian electricity industry) and determined that all relevant criteria had been satisfied.
