AGL SA Generation – electricity generation licence variation approval

On 15 February 2023, the Essential Services Commission varied the electricity generation licence of AGL SA Generation Pty Ltd, authorising the operation of the Torrens Island Battery, a 250 megawatt generator plant.
The Commission assessed this application against the relevant provisions within the Electricity Act 1996 and the Essential Services Commission Act 2002 and determined that all relevant criteria under those Acts have been satisfied. It has therefore approved the application.
