REES Annual Report 2013 - Archived
11 Jun 2014
The Commission has released the 2013 REES Annual Report. The Report assesses
the overall performance outcomes for REES in 2013.
The Report analyses REES activities in a number of ways, e.g. comparing the
contribution of each activity to the overall target, by priority and
non-priority groups, by nature of tenure and by location of premises. All energy
audit and greenhouse gas reduction (energy efficiency) targets have been met in
aggregate for 2013 with all retailers having accrued energy credits to carryover
to subsequent REES years.
Based on the 2013 outcomes, the expectation is that retailers will be able to
achieve their 2014 targets. Accordingly, there is the potential for activity
levels to be markedly lower during 2014, especially for those retailers that
have carried over large numbers of credits from 2013. The Government has
announced that REES will continue for a further six years, until 2020.
