Cowell Electric Supply Pty Ltd - Prepayment metering review

The Commission recently reviewed the data provided by Cowell Electric Supply Pty Ltd (Cowell Electric) in regard to prepayment meters installed to prescribed customers outlined in the Electricity (General)(payment Condition) Variations Regulations 2021.
The review provides initial information on the prepayment meters minimum consumer protection terms and conditions set out in Cowell Electric’s licence and is based on Cowell Electric’s reporting of metrics during the first year of operation.
The Commission will continue to collect and assess the data in relation to the prepayment minimum consumer protection terms and conditions. Building a more comprehensive data set will inform potential future development or refining of reporting metrics and consumer protections.
