On 25 September 2019, the Commission approved the application for an electricity generation licence to Pumped Hydro (SA) Pty Ltd for the operation of a generating plant, with a maximum output capacity of 230 megawatts, located at Lincoln Gap.

Pursuant to section 20(1) of the Electricity Act, an electricity licence cannot be issued until the licence fee has been paid by the applicant.

The applicant had not paid the licence fee, and therefore no licence was able to be issued. Pumped Hydro (SA) Pty Ltd has since reconsidered its application to operate the generating plant at Lincoln Gap.

As a result of this, on 19 May 2021, the Commission revoked its decision made on 25 September 2019 in relation to the application for an electricity generation licence to Pumped Hydro (SA) Pty Ltd to operate the generating plant.
