On 9 April 2018, the District Council of Peterborough applied to the Commission for a water retail licence to provide sewerage services to 1,075 residential and non-residential customers in the township of Peterborough.

The Commission assessed the application against the relevant provisions of the Water Industry Act 2012 and the Essential Services Commission Act 2002 (as they apply to the Commission’s role as an economic regulator of the South Australian water service industries) and determined that all relevant criteria had been satisfied. It has therefore approved the application.

The water retail licence was issued to the District Council of Peterborough on 20 June 2018. A copy of the application and licence can be accessed below.
