Overview

In June 2013, the Commission made a price determination to apply to minor and intermediate water retailers to apply for the period 1 July 2013 to 30 June 2017 (Price Determination). The key requirement of the Price Determination is that minor and intermediate water retailers comply with the National Water Initiative Pricing Principles when charging for water and sewerage services and report to the Commission on how they are complying with those principles.

Final

The Commission has determined to extend the term of the current Price Determination.

The Commission released a draft subsequent determination to further vary the term of the Price Determination on 29 May 2018 for public consultation. In response to the release of this, the Commission received submissions from the:

  • Outback Communities Authority, and
  • District Council of Ceduna.

Both submissions were supportive of the Commission’s proposal to extend the term of the Price Determination until such time as a new price determination is made or it is revoked.

The Commission is now releasing its Final Decision in regard to the extension of the term of the Price Determination, along with the submissions it received during the public consultation process.
