In November 2019, the Commission, with the approval of the Minister for Energy and Mining, approved a temporary exemption for enrolled participants in the AEMO Virtual Power Plant Demonstration Program. The temporary exemption expired on 30 June 2023.

On 29 November 2019, the Commission, with the approval of the Minister for Energy and Mining, approved a temporary exemption for enrolled participants in the AEMO Virtual Power Plant Demonstration Program.
The temporary exemption was scheduled to expire on 30 June 2021. After a round of public consultation, the Commission extended the temporary exemption for two additional years, until 30 June 2023.
