The Commission has received a letter of surrender from The Energy Project Pty Ltd on behalf of J.T. Johnson & Sons Pty Ltd, surrendering the electricity generation licence of J.T. Johnson & Sons Pty Ltd, for its solar generating plant located at Kapunda.

The Commission issued an electricity generation licence to J.T. Johnson & Sons Pty Ltd on 17 June 2020, for the operation of a 552 kilo-volt-ampere solar generating plant, with a maximum export limit of 199 kilowatts, located at Kapunda.

On 14 July 2022, the Commission received a letter from The Energy Project Pty Ltd, acting on behalf of J.T. Johnson & Sons Pty Ltd, seeking to surrender its electricity generation licence, and seeking to rely on the statutory exemption detailed in Regulation 15(2)(b) of the Electricity (General) Regulations 2012. 

In providing this notification, J.T. Johnson & Sons Pty Ltd requested to shorten the six-month notice period required in the Electricity Act 1996. The Commission considered this request, and agreed to shorten the required period of notice. The surrender is effective from 27 July 2022.
