The Commission has received applications for variations to water retail licences in accordance with the Water Industry Act 2012 (Act).

Currently, the licence held by SA Water authorises it to retail water and sewerage services to customers as described in a specified map attached to the licence. SA Water has applied to vary its licence to allow for the provision of retail services to customers connected to a reticulated water scheme at Leigh Creek and a reticulated water scheme at Angle Vale. In assessing a licence variation, the Commission considers the variation against the relevant licensing provisions set out in the Act. This includes section 18(2) of the Act which provides SA Water with the entitlement to hold a licence appropriate to the services, operations or activities provided, carried on or undertaken by it from time to time.

The Flinders Ranges Council is seeking to split its water retail licence into two separate water retail licences; one licence for the provision of sewerage services to the township of Quorn and the other licence for the provision of sewerage services to the township of Hawker.

These applications are subject to a public consultation period closing on 24 November 2017.  Interested parties wishing to provide a submission to the Commission on the application are asked to provide it by the close of business on this date.

A copy of the applications and information on how to make a submission can be accessed below.
