The Commission issued a water retail licence to NWIC Pty Ltd, authorising the provision of non-drinking water to residential and non-residential customers located in the Northern Adelaide Plains.
The Commission undertook a round of public consultation in relation to the application for a water retail licence and received no submissions from stakeholders.
The Commission assessed NWIC Pty Ltd’s application for the water licence against the relevant licensing provisions set out in the Water Act 2012 (Water Act) and the Essential Services Commission Act 2002 (as they apply to the Commission’s role as an economic regulator of the South Australian water service industries) and determined that all relevant criteria had been satisfied. It has therefore approved the application.
