The Retailer Energy Productivity Scheme (REPS) will replace the Retailer Energy Efficiency Scheme (REES) from 1 January 2021. As the REPS administrator, the Essential Services Commission (Commission) has the functions and powers as are necessary to give effect to the REPS.

After consultation with stakeholders, the Commission has made a final Retailer Energy Productivity Scheme Code (REPS Code). The REPS Code is based on the existing Retailer Energy Efficiency Scheme Code (REES Code) to provide as much consistency as possible during the transition to the REPS. The Commission has made only necessary and consequential changes from the terms of the REES Code to enable the administration of the REPS within the revised policy framework.

The REPS Code will come into effect on 1 January 2021 with the commencement of the new REPS.
