The Commission has received an application from Coopers Brewery Ltd for the transfer of the current electricity generation licence of Sustainable Energy Infrastructure Pty Ltd. Coopers Brewery Ltd seek to take over the operation of a 4.4 megawatt natural gas generating plant located at Regency Park.

On 29 September 2022, the Commission approved the transfer of Sustainable Energy Infrastructure Pty Ltd’s electricity generation licence to Coopers Brewery Ltd, authorising the takeover of operations of a 4.4 megawatt natural gas fired generating plant located at Regency Park.
The Commission undertook a round of public consultation in relation to the application and received no submissions from stakeholders.
The Commission assessed Coopers Brewery Ltd’s application for an electricity generation licence against the relevant provisions of the Electricity Act 1996 and the Essential Services Commission Act 2002 and determined that all relevant criteria under those Acts have been satisfied. It has therefore approved the application.
