Licence issued

On 23 April 2020, the Commission issued an electricity generation licence to Tatiara Seeds Pty Ltd for the operation of:

  • a 118 kilowatts solar photovoltaic (PV) generating plant located at Bordertown.

The Commission undertook a round of public consultation in relation to the application and received no submissions from stakeholders.

The Commission assessed Tatiara Seeds Pty Ltd’s application for an electricity generation licence against the relevant provisions of the Electricity Act 1996 and the Essential Services Commission Act 2002 and determined that all relevant criteria under those Acts have been satisfied. It has therefore approved the application.

Surrender

On 3 August 2020, Tatiara Seeds Pty Ltd notified the Commission that it wished to surrender its electricity generation licence. In providing this notification, Tatiara Seeds Pty Ltd requested to shorten the six month notice period required in the Electricity Act 1996. The Commission considered this request and agreed to shorten the required period of notice, and the surrender is effective from 31 August 2020.
