Social Energy Australia Pty Ltd was placed under external administration and withdrawal of the application was confirmed by the administrator on 23 September 2022.

n September 2020, the Commission received an application from Social Energy Australia Pty Ltd, for an electricity generation licence, to operate a Virtual Power Plant (VPP). This application was placed on hold in November 2021 due to the temporary class exemption issued by the Commission, allowing VPPs to operate without the requirement to hold an electricity generation licence.
The Commission was informed on 26 August 2022 that Social Energy Australia Pty Ltd was placed under external administration. The withdrawal of the electricity generation licence application was confirmed by the administrator on 23 September 2022.
Accordingly, the Commission has withdrawn the electricity generation licence application for Social Energy Australia Pty Ltd.
