On 28 May 2021, SIMEC Energy Australia notified the Commission, in writing, that it has withdrawn the application for an electricity generation licence for Sauber Project Company Pty Ltd to operate a 135 megawatt (MW) Lithium–ion battery located at Port Augusta.
Accordingly, the Commission has ceased its assessment of the application.
