The Commission has received an application from SAFCOL Australia Pty Ltd for an electricity generation licence for the operation of a solar generating plant with the maximum output capacity of 0.4 megawatts. The generating plant will be located at Elizabeth South.

On 21 November 2018, the Commission issued an electricity generation licence to SAFCOL Australia Pty Ltd for the operation of a solar generating plant with a total nameplate capacity of 405 kilowatts.
The Commission undertook a round of public consultation in relation to the application and received no submissions from stakeholders.
The Commission assessed SAFCOL Australia Pty Ltd’s application for an electricity generation licence against the relevant provisions of the Electricity Act 1996 and the Essential Services Commission Act 2002 and determined that all relevant criteria under those Acts have been satisfied. It has therefore approved the application.
