Overview
The Commission has received an application from Flinders University for a variation to its electricity generation licence to operate two additional generating plant with a maximum export limit of 200kW located at:
- Flinders University Sturt Campus (East) – maximum capacity of 500kVA with a maximum export limit of 75kW, and
- Flinders University Sturt Campus (South and West) – maximum capacity 520kVA with a maximum export limit of 125kW.

The Commission varied Flinders University electricity generation licence as follows:
- Authorising the operation of two additional generating plant with a maximum export limit of 200 kilowatt (kW) located at:
- Flinders University Sturt Campus (East) – maximum capacity of 500kVA with a maximum export limit of 75kW
- Flinders University Sturt Campus (South and West) – maximum capacity 520kVA with a maximum export limit of 125kW
- removing a duplicated clause in Part 2, and
- correcting the generating capacity of 1.7MW for the electricity generating plant on the original licence, to 1.52MW with a maximum export level of 1.23MW.
The Commission undertook a round of public consultation in relation to the application and received no submissions from stakeholders.
The Commission assessed Flinders University application for an electricity generation licence against the relevant provisions of the Electricity Act 1996 and the Essential Services Commission Act 2002 and determined that all relevant criteria under those Acts have been satisfied. It has therefore approved the application.
