Overview

The Commission has received an application from Beerenberg Pty Ltd for an electricity generation licence to operate a solar generating plant with a total site generation capacity of 550 kilovolt-amperes (kVA) and a 546kVA diesel backup generator, with a maximum export limit of 199 kilowatt (kW), located at Hahndorf.

Final

The Commission issued an electricity generation licence to Beerenberg Pty Ltd for the operation of a solar photovoltaic (PV), battery energy storage system (BESS) and back up diesel generating plant with a total site generation capacity of 1,096 kilovolt-amperes (kVA), and maximum export limit of 199 kilowatt (kW), located at 2106 Mount Barker Road, Hahndorf.

The Commission undertook a round of public consultation in relation to the application and received no submissions from stakeholders.

The Commission assessed Beerenberg Pty Ltd’s application for an electricity generation licence against the relevant provisions of the Electricity Act 1996 and the Essential Services Commission Act 2002 and determined that all relevant criteria under those Acts have been satisfied. It has therefore approved the application.
