On 14 November 2024, the Essential Services Commission, pursuant to section 80(3) of the Electricity Act 1996 (Electricity Act), varied the licence exemption issued to IBA Wilpena Solar Pty Ltd to replace all references to IBA Wilpena Solar Pty Ltd with Discovery Holiday Parks Pty Ltd. The exemption is from the requirement to hold an electricity distribution and retail licence.
The exemption authorises the operation of a distribution network and retail service to two commercial customers in Wilpena Pound.
The Commission undertook a round of public consultation in relation to the application and received no submissions from stakeholders.
The Commission assessed Discovery Holiday Parks Pty Ltd’s application for an electricity distribution and retail exemption against the relevant provisions of the Electricity Act and the Essential Services Commission Act 2002 and determined that all relevant criteria under those Acts have been satisfied. It has therefore approved the application.
A copy of the exemption may be accessed below.
