Submissions invited on the SAWRD20: monitoring and evaluating performance consultation paper - Archived

The Commission has published a consultation paper on the practical implementation of the monitoring, evaluation and reporting framework that will apply to SA Water over the 2020-2024 regulatory period. The proposed framework is intended to introduce more transparency to, and oversight of, SA Water’s operational and longer-term investment decisions and planning and evaluation processes. 

The Commission’s consultation paper provides guidance to SA Water on the expected responsibilities for publicly reporting on its performance. In particular, the paper invites feedback from stakeholders on the following four areas:

  • service standards with performance targets 
  • expenditure and revenue outcomes 
  • key investment areas, and
  • long-term asset management and planning.

The consultation paper is focused on the Commission’s expectations for the 2020-21 reporting period, while noting that a framework of the nature proposed is able to evolve over time.

The Commission welcomes feedback on the proposals set out in the consultation paper by close of business, Friday, 6 November 2020. 

Matters raised by stakeholders will be considered before the final framework is published in December 2020.
