Family violence consumer protections – consultation on possible reporting metrics

The Commission wants to ensure that all consumers affected by vulnerability, including family violence, are able to access, and continue to access, essential services in a safe manner. 

Recently, the Commission introduced new requirements for SA Water to support customers affected by family violence and intends to consider similar protections for customers of small-scale energy and water companies in the near future.

The Commission is seeking feedback on reporting metrics that could be used to understand the impact of these protections and retailer compliance with obligations.

Written submissions are invited by 14 March 2025, and the Commission welcomes meetings with stakeholders regarding this matter.
