Approval granted to vary electricity generation licence – SA Water – Bolivar Waste Water Treatment Plant - Archived

On 30 September 2021, the Commission varied the electricity generation licence to South Australian Water Corporation for the operation of a generating plant at the Bolivar Waste Water Treatment Plant, located at Hodgson Road, Bolivar. The generating capacity of the plant will now have a total generating capacity of 21.22 megavolts ampere (MVA), a maximum export level of 10.46 megawatts (MW) and a generator registered capacity of 16.44MW, comprising solar PV, battery energy storage system, biogas engine and diesel generating plant.

The Commission assessed this application against the relevant provisions within the Electricity Act 1996 and the Essential Services Commission Act 2002 and determined that all relevant criteria under those Acts have been satisfied. It has therefore approved the application.
