Approval granted for SA Water electricity generation licence variation – Christies Beach Waste Water Treatment Plant

On 24 March 2022, the Commission varied the electricity generation licence to SA Water, authorising the operation of a solar photovoltaic, battery energy storage system, biogas and diesel generating plant at the Christies Beach Waste Water Treatment Plant, located at Lot 2 Hunter Road, Christies Beach, with a generation capacity of 10.691 megavolt amperes, a registered capacity of 9.374 megawatts and a maximum export level of 8.5 megawatts.

The Commission assessed this application against the relevant provisions within the Electricity Act 1996 and the Essential Services Commission Act 2002 and determined that all relevant criteria under those Acts have been satisfied. It has therefore approved the application.
