The Commission has varied the electricity generation licence issued to SA Power Networks, to extend its authorisation to operate:

  • four GE TM2500 aero derivative turbines (each 30.7MW) with a maximum output of 122.8MW at Lonsdale, South Australia, until 1 December 2020, and
  • five GE TM2500 aero derivative turbines (each 30.7MW) with a maximum output of 153.5MW at Edinburgh, South Australia, until 1 June 2021.

The Commission assessed this application against the relevant provisions within the Electricity Act 1996 and the Essential Services Commission Act 2002 and determined that all relevant criteria under those Acts have been satisfied. It has therefore approved the application.

A copy of the licence may be accessed through the project page below.
