Water Overview

The Water Industry Act 2012 establishes the regulatory framework for the water and sewerage industry covering economic regulation, technical regulation, water planning and customer complaint handling.

The Water Industry Act commenced on 1 July 2012 and governs all water industry entities providing “retail services” to South Australian customers.

We are responsible for the economic regulation of water and sewerage services in South Australia. Our role includes industry licensing, consumer protection and retail pricing.
