The Commission has recently undertaken a review of the energy licensing documentation utilised by the Commission, which consists of the Advisory Bulletin, Electricity Licence Application Form and  Gas Licence Application Form  and has made various amendments to these documents.

The Commission has released a Statement of Reasons which sets out the context of the review and summarises the amendments that have been made to the energy licensing documentation.

The Commission has recently reviewed its energy licensing documentation. The purpose of the review was to ensure that the content of the relevant documents was accurate, up to date and adequately explained the type of information that licence applicants must provide to the Commission upon making a licence application.  In addition, the Commission was keen to ensure that the documentation was consistent with that utilised by other jurisdictional regulators and proposed under the National Energy Customer Framework in terms of energy retail licensing.

The Commission has made a number of amendments to the Advisory Bulletin and Electricity and Gas Licence Application Forms which are explained in the Statement of Reasons. In summary, the documents have been amended to remove any obsolete references and to clarify the type of information required by the Commission in respect of the applicant's financial, technical and human resources.

To improve readability and ease of use, the Application Forms have been restructured so that there is a separate application form for each type of licence that can be issued by the Commission.

The amended documents will take immediate effect.
