On 23 February 2018, the Essential Services Commission (Commission) varied the electricity generation licence held by EDL Group Operations Pty Ltd to remove generation operations at Tea Tree Gully, Highbury and Pedlar Creek, and updated clauses to reflect amendments to the Electricity Act 1996 and outdated references.

The Commission assessed EDL Group Operations Pty Ltd’s application for a variation to its electricity generation licence against the relevant provisions of the Electricity Act 1996 and the Essential Services Commission Act 2002 and determined that all relevant criteria under those Acts have been satisfied.

EDL Group Operations Pty Ltd applied to the Commission to vary its electricity generation licence on 6 November 2017. The Commission undertook a round of public consultation in relation to the application and received no submissions from stakeholders.
