Variation to electricity generation licence - SA Power Networks

SA Power Networks' current generation licence authorises the operation of the Kingscote Power Station at Kangaroo Island. As part of the South Australian Government's Energy Plan, SA Power Networks is to supply 200MW of temporary generation through its distribution network. Accordingly, SA Power Networks is seeking to vary its electricity generation licence to authorise the operation of temporary generators with a nameplate capacity of up to 300MW, to ensure that it delivers the required 200MW under all weather conditions. The temporary generators will be located at Edinburgh and Lonsdale.

The request submitted by SA Power Networks is subject to a public consultation period which closes on 1 September 2017. Any persons wishing to provide a submission to the Commission on the variation are asked to provide it by the close of business on this date.
