Gas

Licensing

The Commission is responsible for administering the licensing regime that applies to gas entities, including compliance issues. It is responsible for issuing, varying or transferring licences to participants in the gas supply industry where those participants engage in the retailing and distribution of gas. These responsibilities are established in the Gas Act 1997.

The Commission keeps a register of licences issued to gas entities. A register of exemptions granted is also maintained. Hard copies of these registers are kept at the Commission Office and are available for public inspection. Copies of licences and exemptions as well as licence applications currently under consideration by the Commission may be accessed from the side bar. Existing licences may be varied or transferred.

Entities wishing to apply for a South Australian licence should read Advisory Bulletin No 4/7, which outlines the procedure for the issuing of licences.

To apply for a South Australian licence, entities must complete and submit the one of the following separate application forms for each type of licence that can be issued by the Commission.
