2012 Ports Pricing and Access Review

07 Jun 2012 Ports

Following consideration of submissions to the Issues Paper and consultations held with relevant stakeholders, the Commission has prepared a Draft Report on the 2012 Ports Pricing and Access Review.

The Commission's draft findings are that both the current ports price monitoring regime and third-party access regime should continue beyond 30 October 2012, for at least another 5 years.

The Commission's separate inquiry, pursuant to section 34 of the ESC Act, into areas where the ports access regime could be improved also concluded that the regime should be retained in its current form.

The Commission welcomes comments on the conclusions reached in the Draft Report. Written submissions to the Draft Report are due by 20 July 2012. The Commission will consider all comments received and will release a Final  Report in September 2012.
