Snowtown Wind Farm Stage 2 Pty Ltd, a wholly owned subsidiary of TrustPower Limited, has applied for an electricity generation licence in respect of stage 2 of the Snowtown Wind Farm, located on the Hummocks and Barunga Ranges, approximately 5km west of the township of Snowtown in South Australia. Snowtown Wind Farm Stage 2 Pty Ltd intends to operate 48 Siemens 3.0 MW wind turbines at the Snowtown Wind Farm site.
This application has been submitted in conjunction with a second application for a generation licence in respect of the same wind farm from Snowtown South Wind Farm Pty Ltd, also a wholly owned subsidiary of TrustPower Limited.
The application has been made pursuant to Part 3 of the Electricity Act 1996 (Electricity Act) and will be assessed against relevant criteria specified in the Electricity Act and the Essential Services Commission Act 2002.
Comments in respect of the application should be provided to the Commission in writing on or before Thursday 21 June 2012.
