In accordance with clause 11 of the 2011-2014 Gas Standing Contract Price Final Price Determination issued in June 2011, Origin Energy is required for each year of the Price Determination Period to submit a statement to the Commission for the retailer tariff component that would apply for the following regulatory year. The Commission must review the statement and ensure it complies with the requirements of the Final Determination.
On 15 May 2012, Origin Energy submitted its Statement for Approval to the Commission setting out the retailer component of gas standing contract prices that would apply for the period 1 July 2012 to 30 June 2013. The Commission is currently reviewing the statement to ensure it complies with all aspects of the principles and formulae under the Final Price Determination.
