Organisation Structure
The Commission employs a diverse range of professional and technically qualified staff, with backgrounds in areas including economics, engineering, accounting, human resources, law and information technology.
The Commission is set up as a functionally based organisation, rather than industry based. Accordingly, the work groups are not based around particular essential services, but rather comprise two key functional areas:
Consumer and Regulatory Affairs Group
This group undertakes licensing, performance monitoring and technical advisory functions, focusing on the Commission's work in relation to the development and implementation of regulatory arrangements and provides legal and regulatory drafting services to other part of the Office and the Commission.
Pricing and Analysis Group
The functions of this group include conduct of pricing and access reviews for all areas of regulatory responsibility and the analysis and reporting of financial data from regulated industries.
Governance and Strategy Group
Support to the Commission and functional areas is provided by this group , which provides corporate governance, finance, information technology, administrative, records management and human resources support. Legal support is sourced from the Crown Solicitor and external legal advisors.
The functional basis of the Commission is depicted in the Organisation Chart.
