The Commission varied the Corporation of the City of Marion’s existing water retail licence, extending the authorisation of the sale and supply of non-drinking water to include residential and non-residential customers in the City of Holdfast Bay and City of Mitcham council areas.

The Commission undertook a round of public consultation in relation to the application and received no submissions from stakeholders.

The Commission has assessed the application against the relevant provisions of the Water Industry Act 2012 and the Essential Services Commission Act 2002 (as they apply to the Commission’s role as an economic regulator of the South Australian water and sewerage service industries). It has therefore approved the variation.

Application 15 May 2015

On 15 May 2015, City of Marion applied to the Commission for a water retail licence for the sale and supply of non-drinking water to residential and non-residential customers.

The Commission undertook a round of public consultation in relation to the application and received no submissions from stakeholders.

The Commission has assessed the application against the relevant provisions of the Water Industry Act 2012 and the Essential Services Commission Act 2002 (as they apply to the Commission's role as an economic regulator of the South Australian water and sewerage service industries) and determined that all relevant criteria have been satisfied.

The water retail licence was issued to City of Marion on 1 October 2015.
